Donna ISD invites families and the community to join us for the Annual Biliteracy Celebration: Raíces Fuertes, Bright Futures on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the J.P. LeNoir Elementary Track. The event celebrates the impact of Donna ISD’s bilingual and dual language programs, where students build strong academic foundations while becoming bilingual, bicultural, and biliterate. Families can enjoy student performances, carnival rides, fun activities, community booths, free books, food, and more.

The 5th Annual Donna ISD Elementary Games brought two exciting days of competition, energy, and school spirit. On May 5 and 6, elementary students competed in events including the standing broad jump, agility cones, softball throw, tug-of-war, sprints, and relay races.

With great weather and strong support from the stands, students enjoyed every moment of the games. Thank you to the coaches, chaperones, administrators, and staff who helped make the event a success, and to the Donna ISD families who came out to cheer on their students. Your support made the event even more special.

J.S. Adame Fine Arts Academy delivered a phenomenal first run-through of Alice in Wonderland the musical yesterday in front of the Adame student body. The performances, energy, music, and talent on stage have created excitement for an incredible show.

Donna High School celebrated our students at the College Ready Rally, recognizing 290 students who are TSI complete and ready to take the next step. Being TSI complete means students have met college readiness standards in reading, writing, and math, opening the door to college-level coursework and showing they are prepared for success after graduation. Their commitment, focus, and determination were clear throughout the rally. This achievement is well deserved and hard earned as they continue progressing toward graduating every student college, career, or military ready.

Congratulations to Lauren De La Garza from Donna High School on advancing to the regional meet for the second consecutive year. She earned a 2nd place finish in Discus and placed 4th in Shot Put, continuing to compete at a high level in both events. She will represent Donna ISD at the 5A Regional Meet at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio on May 1–2. We wish her the very best as she takes this next step and competes at the regional level.
