The work happening across Donna ISD is shaped by people who lead with purpose and serve with impact.

We proudly recognize Melissa Luna, Donna ISD social worker, honored with the NASW Texas LRGV Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor awarded by the National Association of Social Workers at the local level. This distinction is not based on years of service alone. It recognizes a career of meaningful, long-term impact on the community and the profession. It reflects how peers in the field view her work as a standard for social work, leaving both the profession and the lives she has touched better than she found them.

That impact is felt every day in our schools through the care, guidance, and support our students receive. It is the kind of work that helps remove barriers, supports well-being, and ensures students are able to learn and succeed.

Congratulations Mrs. Luna on a legacy of service and impact.

✨ Celebrating Excellence in the Classroom! ✨ More than 140 Donna ISD teachers gathered yesterday for an exciting Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) recognition event, where they discovered if they earned the Recognized, Exemplary, or Master designation. The event, themed after the movie “Wicked,” was filled with excitement and emotion as teachers scratched off cards to reveal their category. 🎭 The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is a Texas program that rewards outstanding teachers for their impact in the classroom. Through this initiative, educators can earn additional compensation while continuing to make a difference for students in Donna ISD. With graduation around the corner, excitement is building across Donna ISD as students prepare for one of the most important milestones of their journey.

Donna ISD graduation rates exceed both regional and state averages. This is the outcome of a shared focus across the district and the daily effort that goes into preparing students for what comes next.

Graduating every student college, career, or military ready is our Number One Student Outcome, and each graduating class represents that goal in action.
