DONNA, TEXAS – For parents, knowing where their children are during their daily commute to and from school brings an added sense of security. Donna Independent School District is helping provide that peace of mind through Stopfinder, a school bus tracking application powered by Transfinder that allows families to monitor their child's bus in real time. Now in operation across all Donna ISD campuses, the application provides families of bus riders with convenient access to bus locations, transportation schedules and important notifications directly from their smartphones.

For families using the application, the benefits extend beyond convenience. Real-time tracking helps parents anticipate bus arrivals, coordinate morning drop-offs and afternoon pickups, and stay informed throughout their child's daily commute. "Being able to see where the bus is in real time makes a big difference for our parents. It gives them the information they need to plan ahead and provides that extra peace of mind knowing when their children will arrive at school or return home," said Ortiz.

Superintendent Rebecca Castañeda emphasized the district's commitment to student safety and providing families with resources that make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. "Student safety is always a priority at Donna ISD, and that responsibility extends beyond the classroom. Stopfinder is another way we are using technology to keep our families informed, strengthen communication and provide parents with greater peace of mind throughout their children's daily commute," said Castañeda.

Parents and guardians of students who ride district buses are encouraged to utilize the application and ensure their email addresses are current with their child's campus to receive transportation updates. Families needing assistance may contact their child's campus or the Donna ISD Transportation Department. Through Stopfinder, Donna ISD continues to strengthen student safety, enhance communication and provide families with greater visibility into their children's daily transportation experience.
