DONNA, TEXAS – Four Donna Independent School District students had their artwork selected for the 2026 txEDCON TASA/TASB Exhibition in Houston, presented through the Texas Art Education Association’s (TAEA) Youth Art Month Program. The exhibition featured artwork by students from across Texas and provided an opportunity for their work to be viewed by educators and school board members attending the conference.
Donna High School students Jocelyn Trevino and Andrea Gonzalez were selected for their pieces titled “Safe Haven” and “The Blood Moon,” respectively. Representing Donna North High School were Alayna G. Sanchez with “Fairy Earth Dragon” and Koral De La Paz with “The Machine.” The four students were among young artists whose work was chosen for display during the statewide event.
For these students, having their artwork exhibited at txEDCON provided an opportunity to share their individual styles, ideas and artistic perspectives with an audience beyond Donna ISD. Their participation also brought attention to the work taking place in the district's high school art classrooms, where students develop skills in different artistic techniques and mediums while creating original pieces.
Donna ISD congratulates Jocelyn, Andrea, Alayna and Koral on their selection and recognizes the art teachers who have supported their development. The district remains committed to expanding opportunities in fine arts and providing students with experiences that allow them to pursue their artistic interests at the local, regional and state levels.
