Donna Independent School District proudly congratulates Linda Estrada, a 1983 graduate of Donna High School and former Donna ISD employee, on her historic election as President of the Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA), one of the state's largest professional organizations representing public school educators and education support professionals. Elected by delegates during the 2026 TSTA House of Delegates, Estrada will lead the organization through a three year term, representing thousands of educators while advocating for strong public schools, quality education, and the success of students across Texas.

Estrada's journey began in Donna ISD, where she built a career spanning more than two decades in various roles before serving as a campus secretary at Sauceda Middle School. Throughout her career, she became deeply involved in professional leadership, serving in numerous local, regional, and state positions within TSTA and the National Education Association. Her commitment to leadership development included participation in nationally recognized programs such as the TSTA Ambassador Academy, NEA Emerging Leaders Training, and NEA Leaders for Tomorrow, experiences that helped prepare her for statewide leadership.

For more than twenty years, Estrada has been a respected advocate for public education and for the professionals who support student success every day. She has consistently emphasized the importance of empowering education support professionals, encouraging them to become leaders in their schools and communities while ensuring every student has access to a high quality public education. Her dedication to service, collaboration, and advocacy has earned the respect of educators throughout Texas.
