Donna Independent School District proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Early Childhood Wing at Daniel Singleterry Elementary on January 8, 2026, marking an important milestone for the district and its commitment to young learners.
This project represents the first completed building initiative from the 2023 Bond and was delivered ahead of schedule. Designed with early childhood education at the forefront, the new wing emphasizes the importance of building a strong foundation for learning during a child’s earliest years. The space provides students with thoughtfully designed classrooms, enhanced resources, and a welcoming environment that supports growth, curiosity, and development.
The completion of this project is part of a broader districtwide effort to enhance learning spaces across Donna ISD. Several additional projects are nearing completion, including Early Childhood Wings at Salazar Elementary and Garza Elementary, as well as a new wing at Donna North High School. Construction is also underway on new gyms and band halls at Solis Middle School and Todd Middle School, along with a new cafeteria at Donna High School.
In addition to instructional improvements, Donna ISD has completed several safety upgrades across campuses. These include vestibule enhancements and parking lot upgrades that further support safe and secure learning environments for students and staff.
The January 8 ribbon cutting marks a significant moment for Donna ISD as the district continues to invest in facilities that support student success. The district extends its gratitude to the Donna ISD Board of Trustees and the community for their continued support and commitment to the future of Donna ISD and its students.
