Ms. T. Yvette Cooke

Ms. T. Yvette Cooke

Hello! My name is Yvette Cooke and this is my first year teaching 7th grade Science at D. M. Sauceda Middle. I am new to the Rio Grande Valley and I am excited for this school year! I love, love, love my scholars already!

My Education and Professional Background I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami, completed non-degree science courses at Virginia Commonwealth University, and earned my Master of Public Health from Florida International University. I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist. Teaching will be a career change for me. Prior to my journey to the classroom, I was a Health Educator. As a Health Educator I facilitated educational sessions focusing on HIV/AIDS and Teen Pregnancy Prevention for tweens and teens in schools, parks & recreation centers, clubs, homeless shelters, and community-based settings in Broward County, Florida.

My Educational Philosophy My educational philosophy is every student, regardless of circumstances, should have a chance for academic success.

Welcome Seminoles! This year we will focus and have fun in equity!

So, prepare to FOCUS (follow one course until successful) and make learning your locus. Think of science as illuminating as the sun and use your minds to make learning it fun. Please communicate your needs, so that I may support you and help you succeed.
