Dr. Angela Dominguez, a dynamic and visionary leader with over three decades of experience in education, has served as the first female superintendent in Donna Independent School District's 100-year history since 2021. With a personal understanding of the challenges many students face, she has dedicated her career to fostering high expectations and creating equitable opportunities for all.

Under her leadership, Donna ISD has undergone a remarkable transformation. Following her “Look, Listen, and Learn Tour,” she developed a five-year strategic plan that has led to significant academic and financial achievements. The district has seen 100% student growth across all subjects, with kindergarten literacy rates soaring from 18% in 2021 to 85% by 2024.

Dr. Dominguez's commitment to progress is also evident in key financial milestones, including four consecutive years of a perfect State Financial Integrity Rating of 100 and the successful passage of a historic $120 million bond in 2023. She has also championed academic innovation, launching specialized schools and a two-way dual language program to enhance instructional excellence.

A first-generation college graduate from Dartmouth College, Dr. Dominguez's journey from a one-bedroom home in San Antonio's west side to leading a major school district is a testament to the values of hard work and resilience. Her visionary leadership has earned her numerous accolades, including the 2025 Region One Superintendent of the Year and being named a 2024-25 Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association.
