The Donna Independent School District is committed to energy efficiency and conservation practices while
maintaining satisfactory comfort levels for all students and staff.

VISION

The Energy Management Department is dedicated to reducing utility cost by identifying energy improvement opportunities within
the district in an effort to maximize the comfort levels that are conducive to the learning environment.

TEXAS HOUSE BILL 3693 (HB3693)

The passage of House Bill 3693 (HB3693) by the 80th Texas Legislature is intended to provide additional provisions for energy-efficiency in Texas. Adopted with an effective date of September 1, 2007, HB3693 is an additional mechanism by which the state can encourage energy-efficiency through various means for School Districts, State Facilities and Political Jurisdictions in Texas.

TEXAS SENATE BILL 300 (SB300)

Texas Senate Bill 300 (SB300) allowing school districts to establish a long-range energy plan to encourage districts to reduce electricity consumption and save the district money, rather than requiring every district to reduce their electricity consumption by 5% a year.

DISTRICT SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES

2021 WINTER BREAK SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES

Since the school district is shutting down for Winter Break (December 20th - 31st, 2021), the Energy Management Department believes that the 2021 Winter Break would be an excellent opportunity for the District to save money on its utility bills.
