Financial Reporting Awards
-
The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. Donna ISD first received this award with it's 2011-2012 CAFR, the first CAFR the district ever prepared.
Since 1971, ASBO's Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE) Program has been the "gold standard" for school districts wanting to demonstrate superior accounting practices and reporting procedures to the communities they serve. Donna ISD was awarded this award for their financial reporting in the 2011-2012 Consolidated Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

"It is with great pride and pleasure that we present the Donna Independent School District's Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2013. This report is designed to make the financial operations of our school district easier to understand for our citizens, parents, teachers, and community members. The PAFR summarizes the financial activities and operating results of the District and was gathered from the financial information reported in our 2013 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)". Letter to the Community from the interim Superintendent on the Popular Annual Financial Report for the Fiscal Year Ending: August 31, 2013
