Meet the Principal

  • Principal

    Mr. Christopher O. Park has been a lifetime resident of Donna, Texas. He began working for Donna ISD in 2002 at Salinas Elementary.  Salinas Elementary was his home for 5 years where he served as a 4th grade Writing/Reading teacher, UIL coach, lead teacher, and mentor.  During the summer of 2007, J.S. Adame Elementary became his new home for 1 year serving as the 4th grade writing teacher, lead teacher-, and mentor.  Mr. Park then became an assistant principal at Singleterry Elementary from 2008-2010.  In 2010, Mr. Park began serving as the principal at B. G. Guzman Elementary. In 2013 Mr. Park became the new principal at Singleterry Elementary. Mr. Park and his wife of 20 years, Maritza, have two children Madalyn Ava and Caiden Oren Park.




    Ms. Schmutz

    Ms. Melissa Schmutz has been a resident of the Valley for 29 years after coming from Indiana to complete her student teaching in August of 1991. She began working for Donna ISD in 1992 at Ochoa Elementary where she remained for 13 years as a 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade teacher. While there, she served on different committees, taught all subject areas, and lead her grade level as Head Teacher. In August of 2004, E. G. Salazar Elementary opened its doors for the first time, and Ms. Schmutz became a part of that team as a 4th grade teacher for 3 years before being promoted to Curriculum Specialist. She continued serving at Salazar Elementary as Curriculum Specialist for an additional 6 years. In August of 2013, Mr. Schmutz became the Curriculum Specialist at D. Singleterry Elementary. As a long-standing educator, Ms. Schmutz recognizes the value of providing an exemplary education for all children and works each year to assist both teachers and students in meeting that educational goal.
