 UNDER CONSTRUCTION

LEAVES AND ABSENCES

There are several types of leaves that employees may be eligible for.  Some of the leaves include:  Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Extended Sick Leave, Temporary Disability Leave, Bereavement, etc.  Some forms are listed below, for additional information or to see what leave you may qualify for, please contact Lisa E. Gonzalez at (956) 464-1608 or by e-mail at lgonzalez@donnaisd.net.  

Requirements:

FMLA

  • Must have been employed by the district for at least 12 months.
  • Must have worked 1,250 hours in the 12 months preceding the commencement of the leave.
  • Request for FMLA Form must be completed by employee.

EXTENDED SICK LEAVE

  • Must have been employed by the district for at least 12 months.
  • Only professional personnel are eligible.
  • Request for Extended Sick Leave Form must be completed by employee.

TEMPORARY DISABILITY LEAVE

  • Only full-time educators are eligible.
    • Full-time educators are those required to hold a certificate issued by the State Board for Educator Certification.
  • Request for Extended Sick Leave Form must be complete by employee.
